Ellie’s BBQ’d Potato Wedges

During the Summer this is our favorite way to make potatoes on the grill.  But when we get a craving for these outside of summer, we make them in a 450 degree oven.  They are awesome alongside your favorite meats.  At our house they are the first thing to go when we make them for a crowd.  If you didn’t get enough when you went through the line the first time, there won’t be any later!!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 Medium Baking Potatoes**
  • 1 Stick Butter (8 Tablespoons) Melted
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Natures Seasons Salt

Pre-heat Grill – if using gas you will be cooking over medium heat - and get 9” x 12” pan ready that you can put right on grill

Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, then slice each potato half lengthwise into ¼” slices

Add Potatoes to pan, sprinkle with Chili Powder and Natures Season’s Salt.  Pour melted butter and oil over potatoes.  Use your fingers and mix until every potato wedge is evenly covered.

Cook over medium heat on grill – turning every 5 to 10 minutes.  Potatoes will take about 30 minutes to cook depending on grill temp.  They will get nice and crusty.  You can garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro if you’d like.   Warning – these are addictive.

**Note:  We recently did this recipe with ½ baking potatoes and ½ Sweet Potatoes and it was awesome – try this with all types of potatoes!!!
