2008 Bourgeois D-150 Brazilian Rosewood Adirondack Spruce

The Bourgeois D-150 is a faithful recreation of the now-classic Bourgeois Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought made famous by Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Dan Tyminski, and other bluegrass notables.

Featuring Dana's unique, single-scalloped X brace system, Premium Brazilian rosewood back and sides and premium Adirondack spruce top, the D-150 delivers a blend of balance and clarity absolutely required for bluegrass (and highly desirable for most other styles of playing!) --but rarely found in a contemporary dreadnought. Elegantly appointed with an abalone rosette, triple layer ivoroid body, fretboard and headstock binding, side purfling, slotted squares and diamonds inlay, and gold Waverly tuners.

Brazilian Rosewood is an extremely rare tonewood with deep bass and brilliant trebles that was used on the famous vintage guitars we have all grown to love. An international trade embargo on Brazilian rosewood products guarantees that the relatively few sets remaining in this country will continue to spiral in price as the supply dwindles. Brazilian brings remarkable darkness, depth, and warmth; while exhibiting glorious overtones across the entire tonal spectrum.

As Brazilian Rosewood is in short supply and no one really knows how much will be available in the years to come, this is an instrument that is sure to climb in rarity and value.

This dreadnought has remarkable balance and clarity. The high end is crystal clear, sure to cut through any bluegrass ensemble.

This D-150 show very little playing wear. There is a dent on the back lower bout, pictured. There are some light finish scratches. Hardshell case included.
