If you're looking for a quality guitar without breaking the bank, it's worth having a look at the Maton S60 acoustic guitar.
Unlike low-end Maton's of years gone by, the Maton S60 boast all-solid timber construction which dramtically improves the tonal character compared to the old Maton 225 series.
But it doesn't stop there!!
Maton has also redeveloped their entire construction method, bringing advanced refining techniques to their entire range of guitars that previously were only used in the Maton Custom Shop. Now you can be confident that when you buy a Maton, you're buying world class.
Improved production methods have made it possible to produce these all solid timber guitars more effectively than ever before and the playability and tonal benefits are amazing. The backs and tops of these guitars are able to resonate more freely and have a huge dynamic range. Refined neck/body geometry produces a neck that is a joy to play.
Difficult chord shapes and complex single note runs are much easier to execute and increased tonal response improves acoustic projection. A bone nut and saddle ensure maximum tone and sustain. The S60 is finished in Maton's tuned Satin pre-catalysed Nitro finish.
The New Solid Road Series S60 features solid Queensland Maple Back and Sides. The Top is book matched, "A" Grade Sitka Spruce and features Ramped Bracing. The neck is made from Queensland Maple. Both the Fretboard and Bridge are made from Indian Rosewood.
Originally used as a Mahogany "substitute", Queensland Maple has become the backbone of the Maton sound. It is used in nearly every Maton either as a neck, back & sides, or internal component.
A rainforest hardwood from Northern Queensland, this timber is light, strong, and visually striking. Queensland Maple is extremely well balanced with an even response across all frequencies. If you are looking for the secret to Maton's great tone, this is a good place to start.
